Jackson has a lot of steep, high alpine terrain. Skiing it well comes down to the right line on the right day, and being ready for it when you get there.
I've been coaching skiers in advanced terrain for almost a decade. Here's how a steeps day works.
Choosing the line
Snow changes from day to day and from one slope to the next. I pick where we ski from what the snow's doing that morning and how you're skiing. Some days that's the line you came for. Some days it's a better one for the conditions.
Building up to it
We warm up on terrain you already ski well. I watch how you ski, and we work on what steep skiing asks of you. When that holds up, we go steeper, one step at a time.

What does a steeps day look like?
We warm up on terrain you already ski well. Then we work on the pieces steep skiing needs and move to steeper terrain as they hold up. Lessons are a full day or a half day. We can start any time, but most people start at 9am when the mountain opens. You can also book early access, which gets us on the mountain before it opens to the public. It's great on powder days.
Can I book you for my whole trip?
Yes. You can have the same instructor every day of your trip.
Where do we meet?
Wherever is convenient for you: the base of the mountain, your hotel, your home or your rental.
How much does a private lesson cost?
I send the price with your confirmation. Payment is handled through Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Current prices are on the resort's Mountain Sports School page.
